Almost 1 in 4 children living in Scioto, Pike, and Adams Counties are considered "food insecure," meaning they do not know where their next meal is coming from. Many of these children are going without proper nutrition or, in some cases, with no food at all over the weekend, their only meals being provided at breakfast or lunch through the school system.
Every dollar you give counts-a donation of $30 will purchase food for 10 children for one weekend. A gift of $100 will provide four weekend meals for eight children for a month. $120 will provide weekend food for a hungry child for an entire 40 week school year.
The Steven A. Hunter Hope Fund, Inc. is a 501(3)c tax exempt, tax deductible public charity organized in 2008 to assist in fundraising activities and also to provide immediate assistance for the needs and special projects such as Steven's Power Pack Program and the Mobile Food Pantry.
You can give with confidence, 97 cents of every dollar goes directly to purchase goods or services for children in our community who live with the reality of poverty. We work very hard to keep our expenses at the bare minimum so that your donation will have the maximum impact that will directly benefit these children.
